2 killed, 1 critically injured in Garland crash

Two people are dead and a third was injured in a car crash in Garland on Sunday morning.

The accident happened on Rowlett Road, between Roan Road and Thornhill Way, around 6 a.m.

Garland police say a red pickup truck was traveling east when it lost control and hit the guardrail, ejecting two people from inside the car. Those two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person in the car was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Both the east and westbound lanes of Rowlett Road were closed.

Rowlett police announced at 11 a.m. that both lanes of the road were reopened.

Garland police are investigating what led up to the accident.
