Frisco ISD opening four new campuses for 2018-19 school year
Frisco ISD is gearing up to open four schools that were dormant for a year to save money.
When the new schools open on Thursday, Aug. 16, it will bring Frisco's total number of campuses to 72.
Memorial High School, Lawler Middle School, Liscano Elementary and Talley Elementary are opening to relieve overcrowding at nearby schools.
Frisco ISD released new numbers that show it is the fastest growing district in the state. It expects to enroll more than 60,000 students for the upcoming school year.
A map (images attached to this story) shows the growth patterns in North Texas, with the light blue showing the least growth and red the most.
In the past 5 years, Frisco ISD added 15,000 students. That's more than the entire student body of districts like Coppell or Prosper.
