One man is dead, another one is in the hospital and two are in custody after a shooting in the middle of the afternoon in a Forney neighborhood.
FORNEY, Texas - One man is dead, another one is in the hospital and two are in custody after a shooting in the middle of the afternoon in a Forney neighborhood.
A bullet-riddled car came to a stop in the parking lot of nearby Brown Middle School, sending several schools into some type of lockdown.

Investigators say there is no ongoing threat, and they are not looking for any other suspects.

What we know:
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office said two people were shot around 2 p.m. in the Amber Fields neighborhood near the Forney ISD school on Windmill Farms Boulevard, which is just outside the Forney city limits.
The two adult male victims were taken to the hospital, where one of them later died. The other man's condition was not immediately made clear.
Two men are now in custody in connection to the shooting, but charges remain unclear.
The sheriff's office reiterated there is no ongoing threat, and it is not looking for any other suspects.
Surveillance video shared with FOX 4 captured the gunfire and a white sedan speeding away from the neighborhood.

Surveillance video captured the sound of several gunshots in the Amber Fields neighborhood in Forney Friday afternoon and a white sedan speeding by.
Crime Scene in Brown Middle School Parking Lot
The car ended up in the parking lot of Brown Middle School, less than a mile away. At least one of the car’s windows appeared to be shot out.
Forney ISD placed the campus in a ‘secure mode,’ along with North Forney Middle School, Smith Intermediate, Dewberry Elementary, Blackburn Elementary and Forney Learning Academy.
SKY 4 spotted a medical transport helicopter taking off from the school parking lot.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office says one of the two shooting victims was transported to a hospital in Dallas.
The secure mode was lifted just as school was letting out.
No students or staff were hurt.
Neighborhood Rattled by Gunfire
What they're saying:
Rachel Shuford heard the gunfire ripping through her Forney neighborhood Friday afternoon.
"All of a sudden, I heard at least 12-15 rounds of shots," she recalled. "They had to of had like a switch or a clip on it."
Shuford says she then saw someone running down the street.
"He looked like he was running for his life, honestly," she said. "He lost his shoe, kept running. There was a white car that was speeding past and shooting."
After the gunfire cleared, Shuford says she and other neighbors approached a gunshot victim on the ground.
"He was breathing, but it was getting really bad," she said. "So we kept calling the ambulance."
Dache Griffin has kids who go to Brown Middle School.
"I instantly drove up this way just to make sure everything was okay," she said.
What we don't know:
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office has released very little details about the shooting, only saying it happened in the 2000 block of Chisholm Trail.
It’s unclear why the white sedan drove to the middle school parking lot.
SKY 4 captured video of a nearby home surrounded by crime scene tape.
The names of the suspects and the two shooting victims have not been released.
