Fire destroys Irving apartments near North Lake College

A fire destroyed multiple apartments in Irving on Friday afternoon.

The fire began around 1:30 p.m. Sky4 footage showed large flames and thick smoke bellowing out of the Resort at Jefferson Park apartments in the 1100 block of Hidden Ridge.

A total of 41 people while lived in the 20 units that were destroyed were all accounted for. The Red Cross is assisting those displaced.

One firefighter received minor injuries during the fire. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The complex is next to North Lake College and close to the Walnut Hill exit on 114.
