Early morning fire destroys Duncanville family's home

DUNCANVILLE, Texas - A Duncanville family escaped when a fire tore through their home early Thursday morning.

The fire started just after 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of Greenbrier Lane near Danieldale Road and Santa Fe Trail.

Fire officials said a girl inside the home woke up because of a crackling noise, thinking someone was trying to break in. She woke up her father and he discovered the fire.

The family was able to get out of the house safely but their house was destroyed. It took firefighters about 45 minutes to put out the flames.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
