Driver hits & kills Dallas woman waiting at bus stop
A Dallas woman was hit and killed about Sunday afternoon waiting at a bus stop by a driver who was apparently suffering from congestive heart failure.
The DART stop on North Buckner Boulevard near Peavy Road was destroyed and the car that caused the damage ended up about 50 yards down the street.
The driver was taken to the hospital. It's not known if he will face any charges for the woman's death.
"They say she came right out here and sat right there on the bus stop and that's when they hit her," said Lawanda Johnson who recognized the woman from nearby apartments.
"She works at Walmart and she's a sweet lady. She don't mean no harm towards nobody," said her neighbor Darren Howard.
Howard says she would take the bus to and from work. He says she walked with a limp and doesn't think she would have been able to move out of the way of a car coming at her.
Howard is concerned about her husband who came to the scene.
"He came up here. He was crying and everything. I wanted to give him a hug," said Howard.
The woman's identity has not been released.
