Dallas shooting: Break-in suspect shot by resident in southwest Dallas, police say

DALLAS - Dallas police are investigating a report that a man who broke into a home was shot by someone who lives there.

The wounded suspect went back to a car and called 911 for help.

He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. on Nutmeg Lane in southwest Dallas near Joe Pool Lake.

Police say the shooter is cooperating with their investigation.
