Dallas PD officers deliver food for 'Meals on Wheels'

A number of officers with the Dallas Police Department spent part of their Thursday morning delivering food for "Meals on Wheels."

Hundreds of volunteers helped deliver about 1,800 meals.

Officers were excited to take part because it let them meet with members of the community in a different way.

“Honestly, it’s a really neat experience. It’s good to be able to interact with the community, and for them to get to see us in a different light,” said Dallas PD Officer Jamison Bone. “They see us on their worst days, or you know, when they probably don’t want to, so it’s nice to be able to surprise residents and get to interact with them. Let them know we’re here, we’re human just like they are. And to help them out when we can."
