Dallas Midtown project moves forward with demolition continuing at Valley View Mall

The developers of a long-awaited and long-delayed shopping center project say they are finally moving forward.

Demolition is underway again at the Valley View Mall in north Dallas.

The mall has been in a state of partial demolition for years because of lawsuits over alleged code violations.

On Wednesday, the developer said the final hurdle was cleared for settling that dispute.

The mall is now expected to be demolished by the end of the year.

The project is called Dallas Midtown, with the developers planning for a mix of retail and residential spaces.

The planners of the project say it will reshape the LBJ Freeway corridor.
