Klayton Adams
The backstory:
Adams has spent the last two years in Arizona serving as the team's offensive line coach.
In 2024, Adams' Cardinals were second in the league in average rushing yards per carry and seventh in total rushing yards.
After finishing his playing career at Boise State, Adams worked for several years in the college game, including stints at Colorado, San Jose State and Sacramento State.
He worked in several different roles, including offensive line coach, running backs coach, tight ends coach and co-offensive coordinator positions.
In 2019, Adams was hired as an assistant line coach for the Indianapolis Colts, where he overlapped with Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.
He was later moved to be the Colts' tight ends coach.
Turning Around The Cowboys Offense
By the numbers:
Adams will look to get the Cowboys' offense back on track after a disappointing 2024.
The Cowboys finished 27th in the league in rushing yards (1,705) and last in the league in rushing touchdowns (6).
Other Cowboys' Offensive Coordinator Candidates
Adams was one of several coaches who interviewed for the offensive coordinator position.
Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, Atlanta Falcons' tight ends coach Kevin Koger and Detroit Lions' running backs coach Scottie Montgomery spoke with the Cowboys' front office in recent days, according to DallasCowboys.com.
