Christmas creeping into stores earlier than ever

Are you in the mood for an eggnog toast, to sing carols, and wrap presents?

If you go into a Walmart or other big box store, you might think that Christmas is right around the corner. Remember, it's not. It is still 2 months away.

Still, many retailers, like Walmart, Costco, Target, and Home Depot already have their Christmas decorations out.

According to a new poll by CreditCard.com, not everyone is buying into it. Three out of four people surveyed said they are annoyed by the Christmas shopping season starting this early.

Half the respondents said  stores should not put out Christmas decorations until Thanksgiving. One out of five said retailers should wait at leastr until Halloween.

Younger people don't seem to mind the jump start. Older folks tend to hold off Christmas shopping until closer to the holiday.

The push to get consumers to shop earlier is being called "Christmas creep." It must be a sign  of the times. Not too long ago, most people thought the Christmas creep was the Grinch.
