Child involved in Dallas County police chase, crash

Three adults, a young boy and a dog were involved in a chase and crash overnight.

The chase started after Dallas County sheriff’s deputies tried to pull a car over for speeding on the Stemmons Freeway near the Medical District around 5:30 a.m. Monday.

A Department of Public Safety helicopter and sheriff’s deputies followed the car southeast of Dallas to Seagoville. They reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour before the car hit a tree.

The male driver and two women in the car suffered serious injuries. The boy and the dog are expected to be okay.

The driver could face several charges including felony evading arrest and child endangerment. Police don't yet know why he refused to stop.

There was no child seat inside the car, police said.
