Best Buy campers brave the cold for NES Classic
MESQUITE, Texas - Several people camped out overnight for the chance to buy a popular classic gaming system.
The campers risked the freezing weather outside Best Buy in Mesquite Tuesday while waiting in line for the NES Classic. It’s one of the most sought after gifts this holiday.
Kevin Eustamante and his friends got in line Monday night after getting off work. Several of them wanted to buy the console for family members, but Eustamante wanted it for the nostalgia factor.
“First you get to spend time with your friends. You’re camping out here waiting to get the console that just came out. And the Nintendo Classic, it was an amazing console back then. It’s nostalgic to a lot of adults nowadays and I think everyone loves it. That’s why it’s so popular,” he said.
The gaming systems have been out for a while, but they typically sell out minutes after they go on sale.
The Mesquite store said it would only have a few to sale after the store opened at 8 a.m.
