Arrest warrant issued for Dallas Catholic priest
DALLAS - A judge has finally issued an arrest warrant for an accused Catholic priest from Dallas.
Fr. Edmundo Paredes allegedly sexually assaulted teenage boys years ago at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Oak Cliff. A new alleged victim just recently came forward.
The 70-year-old former pastor is also suspected of stealing as much as $80,000 from the low-income parish.
But Fr. Paredes is nowhere to be found and may have fled the country. Authorities believe he may be hiding in his native Philippines.
If captured, he will face charges in Dallas County for sexual assault.
