1 killed in Arlington house fire

One person is dead and another was rescued from a burning home in Arlington on Sunday afternoon.

Bayonne Court Fire

What we know:

Arlington Fire says a call came in just after 4 p.m. for a fire at a home on Bayonne Court, not far from I-20 and Highway 287.

While crews were on the way, dispatch upgraded the response to a second alarm due to reports of people trapped inside the home.

When firefighters arrived, they say one person was still inside the home and another was outside, but trying to get back in.

Investigators say the fire was contained to a single room in the home, and they were able to get the fire out quickly.

Search crews found one deceased victim.

Another was treated for smoke inhalation.

What we don't know:

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has not released the victim's name or age.
