Thousands of toys sorted at secret Toys for Tots warehouse
The Marines and FOX 4 are continuing to gather toys for those in need this holiday through the Toys for Tots program. And all of those toys have to be sorted somewhere.
FOX 4's Hanna Battah took a tour of the super-secret Toys for Tots warehouse where tens of thousands of toys go after they are donated. Volunteers there sort the items so that they can be distributed to local organizations that help the less fortunate.
North Texans have been very generous this year. One local business owner donated $5,000 to help buy more toys while Hanna was at the warehouse. But toys are still needed for children of all ages, especially those ages 9 to 12.
Toys for Tots is also looking for more volunteers to help sort toys, especially on weekdays.
You can drop off a new unwrapped toy tonight at Firewheel Town Center in Garland. FOX 4 will be there live from 5 to 10:30 p.m.
