North Texas stays rain-free this week, but comfortable mornings and warm, sunshine-filled afternoons will be a thing of the past. A nice northerly breeze will keep temperatures slightly below normal to start the work week, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the 60s. By Tuesday, clouds increase thanks to what is left of Irma in the Southeast. This will likely be our last cooler than normal day.

Clouds thin out through the day Wednesday, as Irma moves northeast. Highs climb back to the low 90s. The warmup continues from there, as a ridge of high pressure builds over North Texas. This ridge keeps the region rain-free through the weekend, but also helps temperatures soar into the mid and upper 90s. Some of the highest temperatures are likely west of Dallas/Fort Worth, where a few spots may hit 100 by Friday.
