The days of abundant sunshine are behind us for at least the next day or so as storms head toward North Texas.

Then after midnight, most of North Texas can expect to see storms with potentially damaging high straight-line winds.

"A brief spin up or two cannot be entirely ruled out which is why the storm prediction center out in Norman, Oklahoma does have us at a slight risk for most of the Metroplex and enhanced area west of I-35," Romero said.

The most active periods will be from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.  in the far western portions of our viewing area, from 3 to 6 a.m. in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and from 6 to 9 a.m. east of the Metroplex.

The rain will likely affect the early morning commute for most people in the DFW area Wednesday morning.

It will also bring back temperatures in the 70s for the rest of the week.
