Dallas weather: Heavy rain followed by sunshine and warm temperatures

From gray and wet to sunny and warm—early spring, here we come! The Dallas-Fort Worth area will see a few days of rain before temperatures rise heading into the weekend. Here’s what to expect:

Dallas-Fort Worth Weather Forecast

Wednesday

Clouds will bring rain throughout the day, with temperatures staying fairly steady before reaching close to 60 degrees this afternoon.

The main round of storms will develop tonight and last into Thursday morning.

Thursday

Widespread showers will continue through Thursday morning. Heavy rain could lead to flooding, and there’s a chance of small, non-severe hail—up to the size of a nickel.

Most of the metroplex will see at least 1 inch of rain, with some areas picking up 2 to 3 inches. Gusty winds between 45 and 55 mph are also expected.

The rain and storms should clear out of the DFW area just after rush hour, with eastern counties seeing drier conditions closer to noon. The afternoon will bring some sunshine, with temperatures climbing back into the 60s.

Warm Weekend Ahead

Friday will be mild, with highs in the 60s. A few early morning showers are possible, but skies should clear by sunrise.

Saturday will start off cool, with morning lows in the low 40s, but sunny skies will push temperatures back into the 60s and 70s.

Sunday will be breezy and warm, with highs in the 70s—and some parts of the metroplex could even hit 80 degrees.

Looking Ahead to Next Week

Next week will start off warm, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. While it’s too early to pinpoint the full forecast, dry conditions are expected.

Enjoy the early taste of spring this weekend!
