DALLAS - Heavy rain continues Thursday morning as DFW faces significant flooding and record rainfall.

What we know:
Just before midnight Wednesday, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport recorded 2.8 inches of rain, setting a new daily record for Jan. 29.
By 5 a.m. Thursday, the total had risen to 3.91 inches—nearly an inch more than at midnight. High water has been reported in areas across the metroplex, including near White Rock Lake.
Dallas-Fort Worth Flood Warnings

The National Weather Service has continued to expand and extend flood warnings initially issued Wednesday night. Most warnings across the metroplex have now been extended from 5 a.m. to noon.
A flood warning remains in effect for Dallas, Tarrant, and parts of Collin counties. A broader flood watch is in place until noon but could expire earlier.
Rainfall Totals

By the numbers:
Most of the DFW area has received between 3 and 5 inches of rain, with totals expected to rise as showers continue through the morning.
Thursday Afternoon Weather

Rain is expected to clear by noon, with skies gradually clearing from west to east. By the afternoon, North Texas will see partly to mostly sunny skies, with highs in the mid-to-upper 60s.
Weekend Forecast

Temperatures will remain in the mid-60s Friday before a warming trend takes hold. Highs will reach the low 70s Saturday, mid-70s Sunday, and could approach 80 degrees by noon Monday.
A cooldown is expected by Tuesday.
