DALLAS - A blast of arctic air that sent temperatures into the 20s is here.
Wednesday started out mild, but a strong cold front caused temperatures to fall in the afternoon and dip below freezing overnight, with temperatures Thursday morning in the 20s with wind chills in the lower teens.

In other words, winter is here. Highs in North Texas won't get out of the mid 30s on Thursday.
There's a chance for some freezing rain and a wintry mix in other parts of the state but not here. In North Texas, it will be mostly cloudy, gusty and very dry.

Friday morning will start out even colder with temperatures below 20 in most of DFW and in the teens north of the Metroplex. But it should warm up during the day into the mid 40s.

The weekend will be much more moderate with some clouds and some sunshine. Highs will reach the upper 50s to low 60s.
But if you like the colder weather, don’t worry. There’s another front with much colder air in the forecast for next week.
