Higher temps...higher storm chances (for some) as we heat toward the weekend!
Back close to "average" today, but with light winds and fairly high humidity...it will feel more uncomfortable. Heat Index over 100. We do have an Air pollution watch and also a very low (10%) coverage of showers east of Dallas.
A weak front in Oklahoma will kick off storms tonight that may clip Red River counties AM, but will also push a boundary closer to the Metroplex in the afternoon. That will be our 20% chance for storms Friday (30% north-NE). Otherwise, SW winds will push highs very close to 100, with a heat index 105 or better. HOT!
That same weak front will stall across the area Saturday with another 30% coverage of storms from DFW north. Temps will range from 100 south of the Metroplex to the low 90s on the Red River. Heat Index well over 100 again.
The stalled front will be close by from Sunday night into Tuesday, so there will be at least SOME storm risk (30%) through the period. It's too early to time things like this out, but extra clouds should help pull temps down a bit.
By the middle of next week, high pressure builds back in...and we COULD see triple digit readings return by later next week.
