Full Hearing: Texas Criminal Jurisprudence Committee

The Texas Criminal Jurisprudence Committee met on Dec. 20, 2024, to hear arguments on Texas' "junk science law." The committee wanted to here from Texas death row inmate Robert Roberson but a late motion filed by Attorney General Ken Paxton blocked his appearance. The committee heard from Josh Burns who was convicted in Michigan of shaking his baby in 2015. Burns' conviction was overturned in November. Burns spent one year in jail and two years on probation.
