DART suspends all services due to icy conditions

The city of Dallas says it sent all of its trucks out Thursday to treat major thoroughfares and the central business district. But it wasn’t enough to stop the roads from completely icing over by Friday morning. In response, DART made an unprecedented decision of suspending all of its bus services due to the weather.

Friday’s sun melted some of the storm's snow and ice. But as the temperature drops, anything that may have melted will re-freeze. Some heavily traveled highways are starting to get better. Still, most North Texas roadways still have ice on them and are actually worse a day after the winter storm.

Dallas road study shows fewer lanes means fewer crashes

The results of a study that reduced Jefferson Boulevard in North Oak Cliff from six lanes to four lanes showed reducing lanes reduced crashes. A neighborhood association wants the city to make the change permanent.
