Here's to You: The Dog Stop in Plano
The Dog Stop in Plano teamed up 14 months ago with Cody's Friends Rescue to care for strays & mistreated dogs until they find fosters or forever homes. So far 25 dogs have been adopted, 13 are being fostered & 9 dogs are being cared for.
Here's To You: Tarrant Area Food Bank volunteers
More than 300 students from Fort Worth and around Texas spent part of their spring break at the Tarrant Area Food Bank. They put 15 pounds of fresh produce in 9,000 boxes for families and senior citizens in 13 counties.

In 2021, Tommy Wainwright rang the bell and was declared cancer free after being treated at Children's Medical Center Dallas. He knows how toys help patients, so he collects & donates toys to the hospital. On March 27, he'll be 12. Happy birthday, Tommy!

Students at Primrose Schools in Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties donated 12,684 books to local children's hospitals, libraries and non-profits for National Reading Month in their annual Og's Bountiful Book Drive.

For 20 years, Coleta and Joe Lewis have volunteered at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Plano. They deliver wheelchairs and flowers to patients, put the chapel in order and greet everyone with a caring smile. On June 23, they'll celebrate 69 years of marriage.

Randall Bonifay worked around the world fabricating auto shows and corporate meetings. When he retired, a friend told him about Aunt Bette's Community Food Pantry. He's a two-year volunteer and says he's gone from success to significance.

Brecken was born with a hole in his heart. He was four months old and had successful surgery at Children's Medical Center Dallas. This is the ninth year his family and friends raised money to buy toys for cardiac patients and other patients at the hospital in gratitude.

The 16th annual St. Andrew Methodist Church Prom Closet opens Feb. 18. Pam Sewak and Aimee Heiser led volunteers in the organization of 4,000 dresses. High school girls can shop for a free prom dress and more, but they must register.

Volunteers at the Outlook at Windhaven helped residents make 145 valentines for memory care residents at Presbyterian Village North. The Outlook in Plano made toys for dogs waiting for forever homes at Plano Animal Services, and residents’ dogs had a photoshoot.

The 16th annual Prom Closet at St. Andrew Methodist Church opens Feb. 18. Church members in LOFT, Living Our Faith Together, built 30 dressing rooms. Any high school girl can get a free prom dress and accessories
Here's To You: Young Junior High 7th graders
Seventh-grade students at Young Junior High School in Arlington held a week of service projects leading up to MLK Jr. Day. For the ninth year, they cleaned up a park, read to elementary school students, wrote notes of support to domestic violence survivors and more.

Isabella Klein and Bailey Alexander teamed up with Local Creamery in Plano and Murphy. When customers donated a new or gently used winter jacket to the Storehouse Community Center in Plano, they got a free scoop of ice cream. The teens donated 54 jackets for people in need.

The Knit Wits live in the Edgemere Senior Living Community and have made 264 caps, 18 blankets and baby bears for patients at Children’s Hospital. For 20 years, Rollin Phipps has led an Arlington toy drive. This year he delivered six carloads of toys and hundreds of dollars in gift cards.

The Soulful Lady Gang is a dance group that promotes body positivity and energy. They're also active in the community with Thanksgiving and back-to-school drives. With winter starting, they hope to give new or gently used coats to 100 kids in time for Christmas.

The Hot Flashes are women from North Texas who love to dance. They rehearse twice a week. Since 2010, they've performed for free for all ages. They hope the dance routine shows audiences that doing what you love and volunteering keeps you healthy, young and happy.

"FaLaLa Lakewood" took to the streets in the rain to help kids supported by the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center's Holiday of Hope. Lakewood residents collected $82,861 in cash and toys to help 1,600 children affected by abuse.
