Vivian Gray scores 17 as Argyle tops Liberty Hall in 4A semi
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Vivian Gray scored 12 of her game high 17 points in the first half as defending state 4A champion Argyle built an 18-9 halftime lead and cruised past Liberty Hill 43-32 in a Class 4A girls' semifinal in San Antonio.
Argyle's defense limited Liberty Hill (36-4) to nine first half points, limiting the Panthers to only four of 27 shooting performance in the half. Argyle scored 19 points off turnovers in the game.
Madison Ralston added nine points, Gabby Standifer eight points and Jocelyn Pierce seven points for Argyle.
Sedona Prince and Kandyn Faurie had nine points each for Liberty Hill, and Prince grabbed six rebounds.
Argyle (34-1) plays Waco LaVega (33-2) at 7 p.m. Saturday in a rematch of the 2014 finals won by LaVega 47-42.
