Randy Moss says he's 'battling something;' asks for prayers

Randy Moss revealed that he is dealing with a health issue and is asking for prayers from fans. 

The Hall of Fame receiver turned ESPN analyst made the announcement on the network's "Sunday NFL Countdown" show and Instagram.

Moss was joined in the Instagram video by ESPN colleagues Rex Ryan, a former NFL head coach, and Alex Smith, a retired NFL quarterback.

Moss, 47, didn’t offer details of the illness but encouraged men to get bloodwork done and checkups, the Associated Press reported. 

"I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times. People were talking about my eyes last week," Moss said before putting on a pair of sunglasses. "I’m battling something, man, and it’s something internal, your boy is going to get through it. I got a great team of doctors and got a great family around me."

The former first-round pick out of Marshall played 14 seasons in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers. 

Moss ranks second to fellow Hall of Fame receiver Jerry Rice with 156 touchdown catches and had 982 catches for 15,292 yards.
