AUSTIN - Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Ewers posted a video on Wednesday morning announcing the decision.

Many had questioned if Ewers would declare for the draft or transfer to another school after the Longhorns' loss to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff.

"My entire life I've dreamed about playing football on the 40 acres. These past three years have been some of the best years I could imagine. The relationships I built with coaches and teammates will last forever. I'm truly thankful for the opportunity to play football in my home state at the best university in the world," said Ewers in the video. "Thank you. Hook 'em."

Ewers has been the Longhorns' starting quarterback since transferring from Ohio State.

In his career with Texas, Ewers threw for 9,128 yards and 68 touchdowns in 36 games.

He is third in yards and passing touchdowns all time for the school.

According to draft analysts, Ewers will likely be drafted outside of the first round.

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Ewers as the fifth-best quarterback in the 2025 class.

Pro Football Focus ranked Ewers seventh among quarterbacks.

CBS ranked Ewers fourth overall for quarterbacks.

Highly-touted quarterback Arch Manning is expected to be the Longhorns' new starter.

The nephew of NFL quarterbacks Eli and Peyton Manning filled in for Ewers when he was injured in the 2024 season.
