Lazy river to be built in Frisco RoughRiders outfield
Waterpark meets ballpark with the addition of a lazy river at the home of the Frisco RoughRiders.
The AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers announced Thursday the 3,000-square-foot lazy river will be located in right field of Dr Pepper Ballpark. It will be 175 feet end-to-end and have a depth of three feet and hold more than 68,000 gallons of water.
RoughRiders CEO Chuck Greenberg said the lazy river will be “unlike any other water feature, party deck, or hospitality area in all of professional sports.”
The team said the lazy river is eight times larger than the famous pools in the outfield of Chase Field, home to MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks.
The lazy river will be part of a party area that has two open-air cabanas with food and drinks.
The area can be booked for large or smaller groups. On Thursday’s the club will have a Thursday Night Pool Party ticket for $39 targeted at young people and singles. That ticket includes access to the lazy river, live music in the party area and all-you-can eat food and sodas.
