SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Tristen Wallace scored 25 points as DeSoto defeated Atascocita 73-54 in the Class 6A championship game Saturday.
Wallaced added nine rebounds, while Marques Bolden scored 12 points and had nine rebounds as DeSoto won it's third title and first since 2009.
DeSoto (36-2) took control of the game when it dominated the second quarter and went on an 18-0 run before halftime turning a 15-15 game into 33-15 halftime lead.
DeSoto won the rebounding battle 40-24 and knocked down six 3-pointers on 10 attempts.
Carsen Edwards scored 20 points for Atascocita (38-1), which entered the game on a 38-game win streak and as the top-ranked team in the state.
