Creed surprises Rangers fans at Game 3 of ALCS

The band has been the soundtrack to the Texas Rangers' playoff run. On Wednesday night, the band showed up in person at Globe Life Field during a gameday singalong.

The band Creed was at Glove Life Field for Game 3 of the American League Championship Series Wednesday night.

The Texas Rangers began using the late 90s, early 2000s rock band’s songs for boosts of motivation while up and down throughout the second half of the regular season.

The team would play Creed songs in the locker room before games and said they’d get fired up when fans at Globe Life Field started singing the songs.

The story took off.

"I remember the morning I got about 35 messages on my phone, just everybody saying, are you seeing this?" said Mark Tremonti, the band's lead guitarist said.

On Wednesday, the crowd sang along with the song "Higher", and then cheered when the band’s members appeared on the big screen wearing Rangers jerseys.

During the game, Creed’s lead singer said he’s thankful the team and fans have embraced them.

The Texas Rangers want you to sing Creed: report

The Texas Rangers will be back at Globe Life Field for their first home playoff game since 2016 on Tuesday. Rangers pitcher Andrew Heaney reportedly says there is one sure way to get the team fired up.

"I was just floored and excited that the music after all these years is still connecting with people, still inspiring folks. And I’m grateful to be a part of the ride," lead singer Scott Stapp said.

Bassist Brain Marshall told us he and Stapp once thought baseball would be their ticket to fame. That wasn't the case.

"We couldn't make it in the bigs. Me and Stapp were baseball players in our day. We always wanted to be in the bigs, so if we can be a part of it that's great," Marshall said.

The band is no stranger to the North Texas sports spotlight.

The Cowboys posted a picture of the band from the 2001 Thanksgiving halftime show on their website.

While the Rangers lost their first game of the postseason Wednesday, fans arms are wide open, hoping they can go higher in the playoffs.

"We are just glad our music can be a part of the soundtrack of peoples lives and now part of the soundtrack of the Rangers success," Stapp said.

No word on if Creed will be at the game on Thursday night.

Creed will perform together for the first time in 12 years next spring on a cruise ship.

They also play to make a big announcement in a couple of weeks.
