WWII veteran surprised with Honor Flight

A WWII veteran who was beaten over the summer is visiting Washington D.C.

The Honor Flight Network helps veterans around the country travel to the nation's capital, to visit military monuments and memorials.

Howard Banks, 92, was attacked and beaten when vandals tried to steal the American flag in front of his home in July.

Kaufman police have still not made any arrests or received any tips regarding the crime.

Banks will return to Dallas Saturday night.
