Woman recovering after being shot and stabbed two weeks ago
The family of a young woman, who was brutally attacked two-weeks ago, is asking for anyone with information to come forward.
18-year-old Evelyn Bunte was shot three times, stabbed, beaten and possibly strangled in Northeast Fort Worth, on November 5th.
“She laid there for nearly for nearly five hours before somebody found her and called an ambulance,” said her father, Victor Raga.
The attack left her blind and partially paralyzed, having to relearn basic tasks.
Since the only witness is his daughter, Raga says the details of the attack are still unclear.
“Her actual recollection of things right now is foggy, but as her brain heals and her skull heals up, we're hopeful she'll remember something and can help us in the investigation.”
From what they know, Raga says a group of people got into his daughters house while she was sleeping and attacked her. He believes she may have been targeted.
“She was down here to start her life, to try and be an adult. She got mixed up with a really bad crowd of people,” he said.
Fort Worth Police are investigating the attack as aggravated assault. Police are following leads, but have so far made no arrests.
Meanwhile, Raga’s Daughter has been taking her recovery day-by-day in intensive care.
“If somebody could just come forward with some kind of information, it's justice for an innocent little girl. It's the right thing to do.”
A GoFundMe page has been started to help the family pay for mounting medical expenses.
