Woman killed, 2 children hurt in crash on Stemmons Freeway
DALLAS - A woman died and two young children were hurt in a crash near Downtown Dallas Thursday morning.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said it happened around 8 a.m. as the woman was driving on southbound Interstate 35E.
She made an unsafe lane change to get to the Woodall Rodgers ramp, hit a barrier and then was clipped by a pickup truck.
The woman, who was described as being in her mid-30s, was killed in the crash.
The two children in her car – ages 10 and 12 – were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt. He was released after being interviewed by deputies.
The freeway and ramp were closed during the morning rush hour because of the investigation and so that the Texas Department of Transportation could replace the damaged barriers
