DALLAS - The University of North Texas in Dallas started out as a satellite campus of UNT in Denton several years ago. But the school is changing and now it’s a residential campus.
The school in south Oak Cliff held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning for the $8.1 million new residence hall.
University President Bob Mong said the campus is growing at a rapid rate. Offering dorms is just the beginning of what is to come.
The dorms will be able to house about 120 students. Just over 90 beds are already taken for the fall semester. The students will move in in two weeks.
UNT Dallas is its own, independent, 4-year-university.
