Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Dallas Cowboys star Troy Aikman will have a new restaurant named after him in the Texas Live! development being built in Arlington.
“Troy’s” will be a 10,000 square foot restaurant and bar in the development currently under construction next to the new Texas Rangers ballpark. It will also include an outdoor patio, beer garden and area for live music. And of course, it will have plenty of large TVs for fans to watch games.
Aikman said he helped develop what the space would look like and the menu. He said his inspiration was a Texas-style beer hall. He believes his restaurant will fit in well with the rest of Texas Live!
"There's nothing else like it, nothing that compares to it,” Aikman said during a media tour of the under construction restaurant. "What they're doing with the baseball stadium and how nice it will be for the fan experience along with this entertainment complex, ties in beautifully."
Menu items will include gourmet burgers, some healthier fare and a drink menu focused on beer and margaritas.
Troy’s is scheduled to open late summer 2018 – just in time for the start of football season next door at AT&T Stadium and the final month of baseball’s regular season.
Other planned venues in Texas Live! include a restaurant from TV host Guy Fieri, a new location of Lockhart Smokehouse and an outdoor space called The Arlington Backyard. A new hotel, Live! by Loews, is scheduled to open in 2019.
The new Globe Life Field is also under construction next to Texas Live! The new home of the Rangers, with its retractable roof and air conditioning, is set to open in time for the 2020 season.
