Sparking bottles of water sold at Trader Joe’s are being recalled over a potential laceration hazard.

About 61,500 bottles were sold at stores across the United States.

The water involved in the recall is Gerolsteiner 750 ml. Sparkling Water Bottles, Trader Joe’s said in an online news release. 

The affected lot codes are: 

  • 2024/28/22 24 2027/19/12
  • 2024/271/11 24 2027/18/12

Where was the water sold? 

Bottles of the Gerolsteiner 750 ml. Sparkling Water were sold in the following states from Dec. 27, 2024, to Jan. 28, 2025: 

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • New Mexico
  • Oklahoma
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas

Damaged bottles

Some of the bottles from the impacted lot codes have the potential to be cracked or damaged, causing an increased risk of laceration hazards. 

What they're saying:

"The issue was identified by research related to bottle breakage during production and potentially affects 1% of bottles in the lot codes above," according to Trader Joe’s.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

What you can do:

Customers who purchased the water involved in this recall should return it to their local Trader Joe’s for a full refund, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
