Annual Texas Rangers Toy Drive brings in hundreds of donations from fans

The Texas Rangers are celebrating their fourteenth year of hosting the annual toy drive that benefits Mission Arlington. It’s a mission that brings smiles to young North Texans.

A line began to form for Wednesday’s event hours before the doors opened at 4 p.m.

Cheerful givers dropped off toy donations that will brighten the holidays for many kids come Christmas morning.

People then joined in on the fun at Globe Life Field which included autographs from several Rangers players, face painting, fun treats and more.

Every toy giver received a free ticket to a select future Rangers home game.

Rangers fans say it’s a great way to give back and support the team.

"We come every year. Happy to support and donate to kids less fortunate and get a few autographs in the meantime," said fan Carlyn Cox.

"Community service is what it’s all about. Giving a present to the kids in need is what it’s all about," said fan Christopher Cox. "The autographs come second. I don’t care. All I care about is the kids and make sure they have a good Christmas."

This is the fourteenth year for the event and the third year that Rangers pitcher Jon Gray and his wife, Jacklyn, have served as hosts.
