ARLINGTON, Texas - A major development between the Rangers ballpark and Cowboys Stadium in Arlington opens Thursday night. It’s called Texas Live.
The 200,000-square-foot development is filled with sports-themed restaurants, bars and stages. That includes restaurants by former Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman and former Rangers catcher Pudge Rodrigues.
It has four main stages and a number of smaller stages so there will never be a shortage of live entertainment, especially on game days. For Thursday night’s opening, there will be a concert featuring the Toadies at the 5,000-seat amphitheater.
But not all the construction is complete. A Lowes hotel is still being built and will open next year with more than 300 guest rooms.
The whole Texas Live development is expecting to bring 3,000 jobs and an estimated 3 million new visitors to the area, in addition to the 14 million visitors Arlington attracts annually.
Thursday night’s free concert begins at 8 p.m. Other concerts are scheduled through Sunday to celebrate the grand opening.
Texas Live opens each day at 11 a.m.
