Texas Instruments picks Sherman for new semiconductor plant site
DALLAS - Dallas-based Texas Instruments selected Sherman as the location for several multi-billion-dollar semiconductor plants.
Construction is set to start in 2022 and the first plant could be finished as early as 2025.
There is potential for up to four plants on the site to meet demand over time. That could mean up to 3,000 people could be employed in Sherman.
Texas Instruments’ total investment in the site could be $30 billion by the time the site would be fully built out.
