Storms force Taylor Swift, Rangers fans to search for cover

Emergency managers in Arlington kept a close eye on the weather with the Texas Rangers playing at Globe Life Field and Taylor Swift performing before a packed house again at AT&T Stadium.

Rain from storms greeted tens of thousands of people who flocked to Arlington's entertainment district Sunday afternoon.

Baseball fans had to search for cover on their way to Globe Life Field for the Rangers' game against the Phillies. Many took cover from the downpour at Texas Live!

"I was mainly watching your app and seeing the timeline on when we are going to get hit," said Steve Fredrickson, who was attending the Rangers game.

Some fans of the pop star Taylor Swift made the trip out to AT&T Stadium extra early. Others came prepared so they wouldn't be caught in the rain.

"We knew it was going to rain a chance of rain, so we have our ponchos in our clear bags," said Morgan Blackburn, who was attending the Taylor Swift concert.

Arlington could see traffic issues this weekend due to Swifties, Rangers fans

It is going to be a busy weekend in Arlington as crowds for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and opening weekend for the Texas Rangers could lead to big backups.

Both venues were prepared for the possibility of severe weather.

AT&T Stadium said it went a step further and reached out to the National Weather Service and had a severe weather plan just in case.

Heavy traffic was already expected for the area, and that was worse with the rain.
