Suspect in custody following standoff in Old East Dallas
DALLAS - A standoff at an Old East Dallas apartment complex ended with a suspect in custody.
Dallas police said the domestic disturbance started around 8:30 a.m. when someone called to report that a woman was possibly in danger.
Officers talked to the victim. She told them she was physically assaulted by a man who was barricaded in the complex in the 900 block of Texas Street, just north of Bryan Street.
Images from SKY 4 and FOX 4’s photographers showed a heavy police presence with police snipers and several armored SWAT vehicles.
Officers searched the complex and found him finding him hiding in a storage closet around 11 a.m. No one was hurt in the process, police said.
The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody for a felony warrant.
