Getting around has just gotten a whole lot easier for a 12-year old living with a disability.

Because of the generosity of strangers, Aidan Braswell now has a customized van that will make it easier for him to get in and out of.

Aidan is especially happy with his new custom wheels that change the game and life for the 12-year-old and his family.  With a cheering section of support, he can't get enough of it.

Before Thursday, going somewhere meant having to physically lift Aidan into their car.

"I get him in, get him buckled. I fold this thing up and heave it into the trunk and get back out and repeat the whole process,” explained Jessie Mejia, Aidan’s mother. “Every single day, it’s harder because he loses that muscle strength.

"Just the ease of access this is gonna open up for Aidan is tremendous,” explained his father, Josh Braswell.

When Aidan was 7-years-old, he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the most severe form of the often fatal disease that attacks the body's muscles.

Luckily, Aidan and his family were selected for a special van through the Jett Foundation of Massachusetts but needed to raise half of the total cost — $47,000.

A social media campaign raised $3,000. Then, an anonymous donor stepped in.

Before the big reveal, Aidan told us what he was expecting.

"I know it's pearl white,” he said. “I heard it’s gonna have wi-fi and a sunroof."

Aidan was not disappointed.
