Stolen truck smashes into Dallas check cashing store

Police said at least two men carjacked a truck and crashed it into a check cashing business in northwest Dallas.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on Royal Lane near Interstate 35. Surveillance video shows a truck crashing into the business three times, causing significant damage.

But something spooked the suspects and they ran off before taking anything. They fled on foot because their truck was too badly damaged to drive.

Police sealed off the strip center and used dogs to search, but couldn’t find anyone.

Investigators now believe the case is connected to an earlier carjacking at a car wash on Northwest Highway near Bachman Lake.

Two men reportedly stole a white pickup truck, the same one found outside the check cashing business.

The suspects are still at large and wanted for aggravated robbery and attempted burglary.
