Possible gas leak prompts Hill Middle School evacuation

A middle school in Dallas was evacuated Thursday morning because of a possible gas leak.

Video from SKY 4 showed students sitting in a field outside Hill Middle School near White Rock Lake as they waited for Dallas Fire Rescue to clear the school.

Officials said a crew doing some work across the street on Easton Drive and may have cut a gas line. But firefighters walked through the school and did not pick up any traces of gas inside the building.

The firefighters also knocked on the doors to warn neighboring residents. No one was home.

The area is still taped off and the air quality is still being monitored until the gas company arrives.
