A mother is feeling grateful to Fort Worth Police officers who rescued Christmas for her family.
"This Christmas will always be remembered. It will always be a story." said Brittney Curry.
Friday night, Brittney Curry thought the holiday was ruined for her three sons.
"There was no way we were going to be able to rebuy any of those gifts. I was devastated."
Curry had used her Christmas bonus check to finish all of the shopping for her boys, Friday. She then went home to the Saddlehorn Vista apartments in Fort Worth, and left the bikes, games, shoes and clothes in the truck for a few hours.
Later that evening, she went back down to get the presents and realized someone broke into the car and took everything.
"Who steals that kind of stuff? What kind of heart do you have?" said Curry
She broke the news to the Joshua, Christian and Michael, then called Fort Worth Police. Police say a group of teens were seen near the car that afternoon, and they have license plate numbers for cars in the area at the time.
The next morning, Curry says she called police to follow up.
"He was like, ‘I have three bags of gifts I want to bring over to you guys.’"
Sure enough, Fort Worth Police pulled up and let the boys pick their own gifts. All toys that had been donated to the department for young crime victims.
Not only did they get gifts for themselves, police also let them select toys for their baby brother not yet born.
"It's nice to be able to have something just good happen.” said Officer Bradley Klingberg "Any time you can go and make a real difference in someone's life, it feels really good."
"They were so talkative and amazing with the boys." said Curry “It turned a horrific Christmas into something I felt like is normal again."
