Mesquite police need help finding a mother who may be in danger.

A babysitter started looking for 26-year-old Prisma Reyes around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night when she did not pick up her child. She normally picks the child up around 7:30 p.m. when she gets off work.

Family and friends said they’ve tried to contact Reyes but have not gotten a response.

Police found Reyes’ Jeep Wrangler Thursday morning abandoned near Roseland Avenue, east of Highway 75 in Old East Dallas.

Surveillance video of the last known location of Reyes shows her in the general area where her vehicle was located.

The time stamp on the video places her at the undisclosed location near Hall Street and Roseland Avenue at 5:50 pm. After a few minutes on the phone, she walked out of frame and hasn't been seen or heard from since. She was seen speaking to someone on the phone. Investigators have interviewed that person and have cleared them.

The babysitter, Maria, called police after Reyes didn’t pick up her kid.

“Her child is the most important thing in her life,” she said.

Maria says she spoke to Reyes earlier Wednesday afternoon. Reyes told her she was on her lunch break from her new job at a used car lot located off Northwest Highway in Dallas.

“She talking to me 3 or 4 p.m. She was okay,” Maria said. “We were talking about her job.”

Maria says there was nothing odd about their phone conversation. Reyes told her she'd be by to pick up her 6-year-old son at the usual time at 7:40 p.m. Reyes never showed up.

“I send a text message to her. She no response. That is so, so strange,” she recalled.

At 9:30 p.m., Maria called 911.

“I think our main concern, especially with a mother, is that they would not pick their child up. That's our main concern,” said Mesquite Police Lt. Stephen Biggs.

Mesquite Police didn’t say what led Dallas officers to the undisclosed location near Hall Street and Roseland Avenue. It’s surrounded by new apartments and townhomes.

Investigators are hoping the clear surveillance video leads to Reyes' whereabouts.

Reyes' mother is distraught over her daughter's disappearance. She's caring for her 6-year-old grandson who keeps asking for his mom.

Anyone who spots her or has information about her whereabouts should call the Mesquite Police Department at 972-285-6336.
