Plano girl hurt in hit-and-run crash while walking to school

Plano police are trying to find the person who hit a child as she was walking to school.

It happened on Thursday morning around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Westridge and Wilson drives near Wilson Middle School in Plano.

Video from a doorbell camera shows the girl crossing the neighborhood street. The driver of a black SUV hits her, backs up, and then drives away.

The girl screams as she's thrown to the ground. She can be heard crying as she gets up and limps towards the school. 

Police did not give an update on the girl’s condition.

They confirmed they are still looking for a suspect.

"If you happen to have any information, no matter how small it may seem, we encourage you to come forward and share it with us," Plano police said in a statement.
