PGBT reopens after bomb squad checks out suspicious item
PLANO, Texas - All lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike are open again after a report of a suspicious item.
Plano police said the westbound lanes of the turnpike were closed at Coit Road around 11 a.m. Wednesday because someone reported finding a suspicious item under the bridge at Coit Road.
For safety purposes, the bomb squad was called in to investigate. Both directions of Coit Road were also closed to traffic and drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.
However, no businesses were evacuated. The bomb squad also cleared the scene after determining the item was not a safety threat.
