Pedestrian hit, killed on I-45 in Dallas

DALLAS - A pedestrian was hit by a truck on Interstate 45 near Downtown Dallas overnight.

The fatal accident happened in the northbound lanes of the interstate near Lamar Street just before midnight Tuesday.

Police said a person who was in the roadway for some unknown reason was hit by an 18-wheeler. The truck driver did stop and called for help.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner is still working to determine the victim's gender and identity.

The highway reopened after an investigation.
